How to Grow Eremurus bulbs?

Eremurus, or foxtail lily is called a desert candle. The plant 🌱will grow anywhere from 3 to 8 feet tall, these giant flower spikes of the eremurus is absolutely stinting and definitely impressive to say the least in my opinion. Eremurus bulbs are outright remarkable, with long, spindly roots shooting out in all over the plant. Desert Candle thrives in the full sunlight ☀️hence the name. They plant tolerates little shade, they need as much light as possible in order for their tall stems to develop strength as well as height. The eremurus plant has a fragrance also are drought tolerant, animal and insect resistant.

How to plant eremurus bulbs:

  1. Plant the bulb in the Fall, choose a spot that is fairly sunny and that has nicely well-draining soil. Eremurus aren’t difficult to grow but they will not tolerate drenched soil.
  2. Begin by digging a 5-6 inch deep and 10-12 inch wide hole.
  3. Place the bulb carefully into the hole, taking care not to break any of the long roots while angling them slightly down.
  4. Regarding the spacing between bulbs, Just leave approx 1 foot between each bulb. Please note that eremurus prefer growing undisturbed in beds and can be tricky to grow in containers.
  5. After planting, water well so that the soil above the bulbs settles.
  6. If you live in a warmer climate, you will even begin to see foliage growth in the fall soon after planting. However, eremurus bulbs will begin to flower in Spring. After the flowers die down, the plant can enjoy a warmer rest period. You don’t have to water too much during this rest period. Leaves will also die back and at this point, you can choose to tidy up the plant and remove the old leaves or just let nature take its own course.
